Missing Elderly Woman in Skokie, IL: Search Intensifies
It has been almost a week since an elderly woman went missing in north suburban Skokie, Illinois. The family and friends of Tsering Wangyal, the missing woman, have been tirelessly searching for her since she disappeared. On Sunday, the search intensified as dozens of volunteers gathered at the Tibetan Alliance in Evanston, Chicago, to receive their marching orders. Tenzin Wangje, Tsering’s daughter, believes her mother was trying to get to the center when she disappeared on Monday afternoon.
The Search Efforts
Despite limited English skills, Tsering Wangyal is known to be familiar with the area. However, her family is concerned that she may have difficulty seeking help if she gets into trouble. Volunteers conducted a grid search of the area around the senior center and went door to door in search of any leads. Even after six days, the community remains determined not to give up on finding Tsering Wangyal.
A Beloved Community Member
Tsering Wangyal is described as a matriarch at the community center, where she is known for her love of singing and dancing. Her connection to the community is strong, and her absence is deeply felt by all who know her. The community remains hopeful for her safe return.
