Excitement in the Air: Chicago Air & Water Show Day Two
The 64th Chicago Air & Water Show kicked off its second day with a stunning sunrise over North Avenue Beach, setting the stage for a day filled with thrilling aerial performances and breathtaking stunts.
Spectacular Performances in the Sky
From the U.S. Navy Blue Angels Paratroopers to the Army Golden Knights Paratroopers, spectators were treated to an unforgettable display of precision and skill as planes of all types soared across the Chicago skyline. Civilian performers showcased their talents in stunt planes, with some making their debut appearances at the show.
Stunt pilot RJ Gritter wowed the crowd with his acrobatic skills in the Decathlon 150 CS, while the Trojan Phlyers captivated audiences with their historic North American Airlines T-28B aircraft.
Perfect Weather and Crowded Shores
The picturesque weather on Saturday carried over to Sunday, with clear skies and cool temperatures providing the perfect backdrop for the air and water show. Crowds filled the lakeside to watch the performances, with the event running from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
To secure a prime viewing spot, early arrival is recommended as the shores quickly fill up. Public transportation is advised due to limited parking and potential traffic congestion in the area.
Whether you’re a fan of high-flying acrobatics or simply want to enjoy a day by the lake, the Chicago Air & Water Show offers something for everyone to enjoy.
