Recent Armed Robberies Strike Chicago’s Northwest Side
Chicago police are currently on the lookout for at least two armed robbers who targeted two separate stores in the city’s Northwest Side in a span of just 20 minutes. These brazen incidents have left the community on edge and have prompted a swift response from law enforcement.
First Robbery on West Addison Street
The first robbery took place on Sunday evening around 8:35 p.m. in the 3400 block of West Addison Street. According to police reports, two men, one of whom was brandishing a handgun, entered a retail establishment and demanded cash from the clerk on duty. Fearing for their safety, the clerk complied with their demands, and the suspects quickly fled the scene. Thankfully, no one was harmed during this terrifying ordeal.
Second Robbery on Simon Tross Avenue
Moments later, at 8:55 p.m., another robbery unfolded in the 3600 block of Simon Tross Avenue. In a similar manner to the first incident, two men entered a store, with one of them armed with a handgun. They proceeded to demand money from the cash register, which the clerk handed over without hesitation. The perpetrators then made their escape, leaving behind a shaken but unharmed staff.
These back-to-back crimes have raised concerns about the safety and security of businesses and residents in the affected areas. The brazen nature of these armed robberies underscores the need for increased vigilance and cooperation between the community and law enforcement.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with these robberies. Area Five detectives are actively investigating the incidents and following up on leads to apprehend the suspects responsible for these crimes.
