The thief has been breaking into homes through open windows, stealing wallets and cellphones, and then making a quick escape through side doors. This brazen criminal has also been linked to other attempted burglaries in the area.
Details of the Incidents
The series of break-ins occurred in the early hours of the morning on August 10, 2024, at various locations in Norwood Park. The first incident took place at 5200 North Newland Avenue at 3:45 am, followed by another theft at the same location at 3:51 am. A third incident occurred at the 6900 block of West Farragut Avenue at 4:11 am, and the final reported theft was at the 6800 block of West Foster Avenue at 5:30 am.
Description of the Suspect
According to police reports, the suspect is described as a man in his early to mid-50s, standing at 5 feet 7 inches and weighing between 140-150 pounds. During the crimes, he was seen wearing dark clothing to blend in with the night. Investigators have not disclosed where the stolen wallets and cellphones were taken.
