Off-Duty Cook County Deputy Fatally Shot in Chicago
Tragedy struck in the city of Chicago as an off-duty Cook County deputy lost his life in a fatal shooting and crash on the South Side. The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning, sending shockwaves through the community.

According to reports, the 31-year-old deputy was at a gas station in the Woodlawn neighborhood when he was approached by another man. An argument ensued between the two individuals, escalating when the perpetrator brandished a handgun. As the offender fled the scene on foot, the deputy, who sustained a gunshot wound to the chest, attempted to drive away but tragically crashed into a pole on South Indiana Avenue. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
