Hit-and-Run Crash on Chicago’s South Side

Chicago police are actively searching for a driver suspected of being involved in a hit-and-run crash on the South Side that left one person seriously injured. The incident took place on July 20th in the 5400 block of South Wells Street in Fuller Park around 9:30 p.m.

Suspect Escapes the Scene

According to authorities, the victim was walking in a crosswalk when they were hit by a white Dodge Charger. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and abandoned the car near the 200 block of West Marquette Road in Englewood. The victim sustained serious injuries in the collision, prompting a search for the responsible party.

Police Seek Leads from the Public

Chicago police shared a photo of the suspected vehicle, believed to be a 2016 Dodge Charger SXT four-door sedan. They are urging anyone with information about the crash or who may have witnessed the occupants leaving the vehicle to come forward. Tips can be provided to the CPD Major Crash Investigation Team at 312-745-4521 or by calling 911. Alternatively, individuals can submit information anonymously through CPDtip.com.
