Three Men Charged in Connection with Fatal Fire in Chicago
Three men have been charged in connection with a fire that tragically took the life of Chicago firefighter Jermaine Peart. Chicago police announced on Friday that Mattez Cristler, Nicholas Virgil, and Anthony Moore are facing charges in relation to the incident.

The incident took place on April 4, 2023, in the 12000 block of South Wallace Street in Chicago’s West Pullman neighborhood. Tragically, firefighter Jermaine Peart lost his life due to smoke inhalation while bravely battling the blaze. Arrests Made and Charges Filed
Mattez Cristler, 22, of Hammond, is facing charges of first-degree murder, aggravated arson, and other related offenses. Nicholas Virgil, 37, of Riverdale, faces the same charges as Cristler. Additionally, Anthony Moore, 47, of Blue Island, has been charged with wire fraud, insurance fraud, and forgery in connection with the incident.
