Shooting Incident in South Austin Neighborhood
Early Saturday morning, three men were shot and injured in Chicago’s South Austin neighborhood. The incident took place around 12:30 a.m. in the 5,000 block of West Madison Street. According to Chicago police, a preliminary investigation revealed that multiple men got out of a white sedan and began shooting at a vehicle.
Victims and Their Conditions
As a result of the shooting, a 33-year-old man was shot in the thigh while in a moving vehicle. He was transported to Stroger Hospital and is currently in good condition. However, a 43-year-old man who was standing nearby was shot in the face and taken to Loreto Hospital in critical condition. Additionally, a 51-year-old man, also standing nearby, sustained gunshot wounds to his torso and leg. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with serious injuries.
