Yorkville River Festival Delights Attendees for Over a Decade
For the past 20 years, Deborah Landman of Plainfield has made it a tradition to visit Yorkville in July, with the annual Yorkville River Festival being a highlight of her summer. The event, held at Riverside Park, has attracted families and festival-goers from near and far, offering a range of activities and entertainment for all ages.
Exciting Activities and Entertainment Await
Despite being condensed to a single day due to weather-related issues in previous years, the River Festival did not disappoint attendees this year. Recreation director Shay Remus and her team put together a lineup of activities that catered to families, including a new attraction called “Barbieland,” where visitors could create Barbie characters and take photos in a Barbie box. Additionally, a life-size interactive arcade and craft beer tastings added to the excitement of the day.
Family Fun and Community Togetherness
Brandon Martin, a first-time attendee, expressed his enjoyment of the festival, highlighting the ease of parking and the wide range of activities available for kids. Families like Jose Lujano’s and Melissa Portillo’s found the festival to be a great way to bond and enjoy quality time together. Even reluctant attendees like Audrina found themselves having a great time after exploring the various offerings at the festival.
Overall, the Yorkville River Festival continues to be a beloved tradition that brings the community together for a day of fun, food, and entertainment.
